|LEAD GATE ATTENDANT|
|Performs customer service, cashiering and clerical work with limited supervisory responsibility involving parking garage operations. Primary duties include overseeing and participating in the collection of fees, maintenance of area (litter removal), monitoring and maintaining supplies, resolving complaints, and preparing daily reports. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.|
|Receives, secures, and monitors startup cash banks received from supervisor; issues banks to attendants, making change, etc.
Monitors attendants' activities; assists in scheduling and training of Gate Attendants; provides guidance and direction by explaining garage operations, bureau policy and procedures, and resolving routine problems and customer complaints.
Oversees work of assigned Gate Attendants and participates in collecting parking fees from patrons; determines amount of payment from fee schedule, collects payments for parking, and processes tickets on cash register.
Completes daily revenue collection and vehicular activity reports and submits to supervisor.
Maintains revenue equipment by ensuring they are stocked with tickets, receipt paper, ribbon cartridges, etc.; performs minor repairs such as ticket jams, time/date reset, installing print ribbon, broken gate arms.
May perform parking enforcement in off-street facilities and lots for all violations, including failure to pay.
Opens and/or closes facility by unlocking and locking doors and gates; checks facility to ensure all patrons have left.
Performs related duties as required.

Skill in troubleshooting minor malfunctions with parking control devices and revenue equipment.
Ability to work with and maintain control of large sums of money.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to resolve problems in a courteous, diplomatic and effective manner, and to deal effectively with irate customers.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
Ability to perform duties under adverse conditions such as exposure to exhaust fumes, working in confined area; extreme weather, insects, standing/walking for extended periods of time. (Conditions are dependent upon area of assignment).
|High school graduate plus two (2) years cashiering, customer service, or ticket sales experience, preferably in a parking environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required at time of application. Must obtain Parking Enforcement Specialist Certification within time period specified by bureau.
Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph.
