|PUBLIC ARTS REGIST/COORD|

|This position will perform professional and administrative work in the arranging and installing of temporary exhibits to be shown in City-owned facilities and the establishment of an archive and library. Employee will be responsible for cataloging artwork, books, periodicals, slides, photos, newspapers and archival materials; and for coordinating the contract, packing, shipping and insurance of loaned exhibitions. Will provide periodic examination of art in Public Art collection (over 750 pieces valued at $2.2M), Mennello Museum collection (100 objects valued at $2.9M) and loaned exhibitions. Will ensure that collections are cataloged, stored, and monitored using American Association of Museums standards.|
|Responsibilities include registration work with permanent collections, long-term loans, and traveling exhibitions; accession/deaccession process; incoming and outgoing loans; insurance, transit arrangements and assistance with budgeting. Work with 20th century American collection owed by the city of Orlando, Public Art Program and The Mennello Museum of American Folk Art.|
|Strong comptuer and organization skills.
Superior interpersonal skills required.
Must be able to work with a small, team-oriented staff.
|Bachelor of Arts Degree in museum studies, art history, or related field and a minimum of three to five years experience in condition reporting, art handling; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Supervisory experience may be required.|
