|Performs professional, public relations and managerial work for the Downtown Development Board (DDB) and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). Responsible for the development, implementation and management of marketing and promotion programs and their operating budgets. Duties require their exercise of considerable initiative and independent judgment. Work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Director of the DDB/CRA and is reviewed for achievement of planned objectives through conferences, reports submitted and evaluation of results achieved|
|Develops innovative programs, events and implementation strategies to promote and support the retention, expansion and relocation of businesses and social activity within the Downtown/CRA districts.
Creates and managers internal/external marketing and public relations programs for awareness of Downtown and the DDB/CRA.
Develops and administers a comprehensive strategic marketing plan for Downtown.
Manages multiple public and private marketing initiatives.
Interacts with a wide range of organizations and constituents to educate and build awareness of the mission and priorities of the City and CRA in regards to the Downtown and CRA districts.
Attends meetings of various professional organizations and represent the City of Orlando at functions, trade shows and related public events to promote the Downtown/CRA Districts.
Interfaces with other sections within the EDV department, other departments and outside agencies to increase effectiveness and keep other informed of downtown developments.
Managers and coordinates special events and administers special events budget to maximize events held Downtown.
Coordinate and oversees various consultant activities.
Coordinates and manages various Downtown initiatives and programs.

Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to the management of public assemblies.
Knowledge of the community.
Knowledge of the City's mission, goals and business model.
Knowledge of the role of Downtown and City's goals for Downtown/CRA Districts.

Knowledge of practices and procedures involved with the set-up and tear down, sound and lighting requirements of various events.

|Bachelors degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Public Administration or related field plus (2) two years of experience in performing professional work in event scheduling, coordination, marketing and promotion or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.|
