|RECREATION TRAINING COORD|

|Performs responsible administrative work of a specialized nature in the Families, Parks and Recreation department. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for coordinating the training of current and new employees ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and established business practices. This position is responsible for the coordination, maintenance and submittal of the departments documents for the accreditation program. Work is performed under the direction of the Recreation Division Manager.|
|Designs, plans and coordinates training and accreditation program to identify internal control methods of improvement and increase operating efficiency within the department.
Establish and maintain a training library for effectiveness of department administration.
Keep abreast of current training material and resources.
Obtain feedback of employees through the use of surveys to determine the effectiveness of training material.
Compiles statistical information and prepares various monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
Performs related work as required.
|Knowledge of operating principles and practices applicable to Families, Parks and Recreation.
Knowledge of training and development techniques.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to compile data and prepare statistical reports.
Ability to read and comprehend technical training manuals.
Ability to develop simulation exercises and other training program.
Ability to organize and coordinate various activities.
Ability to operate a personal computer.
|Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Leisure Services, or related field and two (2) or more years of related experience in personnel or training field responsibility for research and preparation of reports, maintenance of complex manual and automated record keeping systems, participating in the coordination and scheduling of training programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid Florida drivers license required at time of application. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph.
