Performs professional, administrative and managerial work for the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance (H.O.L.A.), Requires being fluent in Spanish and English. Work involves managing and directing H.O.L.A., it's staff, and volunteers. Work requires maintaining and developing community partners, planning and directing events (Seminars, Workshops, Trainings, Fairs, Expo's, etc.), create accurate bilingual literature, work in collaboration with the Mayors H.O.L.A. Advisory Committee, prepare and manage H.O.L.A. budget, approve invoices for payment, attend all community events requiring H.O.L.A.'s participation, training staff and volunteers, promotion of services, English and Spanish verbal and written translation and interpretation, provide information and referral, and submitting reports. Work is performed under the direction of the Neighborhood & Community Affairs Director, and performance is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and accomplishments of Office objectives.
Manage the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance, it's staff and volunteers.

Connect individuals and families with the information, resources and necessary tools for a successful transition.

Work with community partners to create and maintain a collaborative effort between both.

Serve as a city liaison with Hispanic business and community leaders and Hispanic citizens.

Provide technical assistance to City elected and appointed officials and city staff in responding to requests and needs of Orlando's Hispanic community.

Assist the City in identifying Hispanic citizen needs and forming partnerships to meet these needs.

Continue to form and maintain partnerships with community based organizations providing services to Hispanic citizens in the City.

Meeting with leaders of community organizations to expand existing services.

Facilitate and/or coordinate seminars, workshops, trainings, fairs, expo's, and other events, in collaboration with community partners.

Create bilingual literature, including accurately translating materials and information in Spanish and English.

Provide translation and interpretation services as needed.

Facilitate resident use of the HOLA Orlando Jobs web site services.

Coordinate the H.O.L.A. Advisory Committee, which includes recruiting members, planning and facilitating quarterly meetings with the City Mayor and the H.O.L.A. Advisory Committee.

Participate in community events providing information and referral.

Manage H.O.L.A. budget.

Participate in City sponsored events, such as the Mayors Neighborhood & Community Summit, and any other event deemed necessary by the Neighborhood & Community Affairs Director.

Supervise and evaluate performance of H.O.L.A. staff. Supervise and train H.O.L.A. volunteers; submit quarterly reports to the City's Volunteer Manager.

Promote H.O.L.A. services through local media, event participation, via Internet, and through person to person contact. Developes,research and submit reports.
Extensive knowledge in facilitating community partnerships to meet citizen needs.

Extensive knowledge in daily office operations.

Considerable knowledge of community resources and services available to assist Hispanic citizens.

Working knowledge of administrative and effective management techniques and supervisory skills.

Considerable knowledge in the principles, practices, trends and methods of information and referral services.

Working knowledge of public relations principals and practices.

Knowledge of organizational development, team building, volunteer recruitment and management, conflict resolution, and managing and facilitating meetings.

Knowledge of community resources in the government, public, and private sectors.

Extensive skills in the accurate verbal and written interpretation and translation of English and Spanish, including strong English and Spanish interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Skilled in managing people and maintaining a positive, professional, and effective working relationship with internal and external customers.

Skilled in research techniques, report generation, and project management.

Skilled in public speaking; researching, developing and making presentations; conducting workshops; and presenting ideas clearly and concisely in writing and/or verbally.

Excellent skills in the use of developing PowerPoint presentations, and writing brochures and publications.

Intermediate level skill in the use of personal computers (including, but not limited to: Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.

Skilled in photography, event planning and implementation.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City Departments, elected City Officials, community leaders, residents, area businesses, and community and social service agencies.

Ability to prepare, justify and maintain a program budget. Ability to remain calm under pressure, in stressful situations, and during confrontational meetings.

Ability to work independently, demonstrate independent judgment, and show initiative.

Ability to identify community needs and potential solutions, and to plan, manage and evaluate outreach programs, activities and resources to address needs.

Ability to analyze and interpret factual data necessary to render opinions, decisions, and direction to the citizens, community, organizations, associations, and businesses.

Ability to operate a personal computer, a camera, video camcorder, public address systems, and other audiovisual equipment needed to make presentations.

Ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays.
Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Non-profit Management, Education or related field, and four (4) years experience performing professional and supervisory work in the areas of volunteer management, community outreach, information and referral, event coordination, marketing and public relations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be fluent in English and Spanish and be able to translate information verbally and in writing in English and Spanish. Must be able to work with the public and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Experience in basic computer software, spreadsheet and database management software, and presentation software desired. This position requires some evening, weekend or holiday work.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: A valid Florida Driver's License required at time of employment.
