|Manages the Bill Frederick Park, a major City park offering traditional park services as well as a children's farm, stables, fishing, and campsites; performs related administrative duties and supervises staff.|
|Plans, develops and manages comprehensive recreation programs, services, and events at Bill Frederick Park.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the park including the children's farm, stables, fishing program, campsite, and other park services.
Ensures appropriate animal care and grounds maintenance; sets goals and objectives; updates policies and procedures; identifies and resolves issues.
Supervises professional, technical, and maintenance staff; selects, assigns, trains and evaluates staff; ensures safety procedures are followed; evaluates performance and handles disciplinary issues.
Administers, prepares, and justifies budget; approves expenditures within budget limitations by focusing on goals and prioritizing within increasingly limited resources.
Oversees revenue collection; controls expenses, reviews expenditures and related financial activities such as bank deposits, accounting and financial reporting, maintains accurate up-to-date records; prepares correspondence and promotional material.
Negotiates rental agreements, vendor services, and other contracts; monitor services; organizes and promotes special events with groups and individuals; ensures events are planned and organized professionally and in accordance with agreement, rules and regulations; ensures customer satisfaction.
Represents the City of Orlando at meetings and public events at various sites; promotes parks services and facilities; meets with representatives of various organization to plan and schedule events such as company picnics, high school crew regatta's, family reunions religious ceremonies, weddings, and school summer camp events.
|Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
Knowledge of park and recreation operations including event planning and organization.
Knowledge of grounds maintenance and facility management.
Knowledge of applicable government regulations, accessibility, safety and security.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic knowledge of farm animal care.

Customer service skills including assessing needs, meeting quality standards for services to customers, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with managers, staff, organizations, and the public.
|Bachelor's degree in park, recreation, or leisure services; other disciplines qualify when supplemented with additional park and recreation experience; four years park experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity and any other similar education and experience. Requires excellent health and stamina due to the physical nature of the job. A valid Florida Driver License is required. Must pass police background investigation, including a polygraph.|
