|Designs, develops, and manages projects involving exterior spaces and physical environments such as landscapes, recreational parks, passive parks, trails, open spaces, and water diversion projects that range from moderately complex to highly complex; prepares a variety of construction and environmental compliance documents; participates in master plans for the City; and performs other duties as assigned.|
|Designs a variety of parks ranging from moderate to highly complex; develops guidelines, schematic and conceptual designs, renderings, drawings, prepares hand and computer drawings, and photo montages.
Prepares construction documents including plans and specifications, prepares details cost estimates, timelines and other guidelines.
Oversees the development of schematic designs and construction details; establishes timelines and budgets for projects; tracks and reviews modifications and processes approved changes.
Signs and seals documents for permits, grants, and other needs.
Presents ideas and provides information regarding park concepts; obtains approval from citizens groups, City Council and outside agencies as appropriate; responds to questions and issues; may participate in public events or engagements such as ribbon cutting ceremonies.
Participates in City planning involving parks such as preparing amendments to the master plan or strategic plans; may work in multidisciplinary teams with other professionals and staffs (including resource specialists and planning/design staff) as appropriate.
Conducts research and evaluates data to determine appropriate strategy regarding site and project development to meet public needs; prepares reports and makes appropriate recommendations.
Researches, prepares, reviews, and approves cost-estimates and innovative effective funding solutions for projects such as grants, fund raising, resource sharing, and other resources to support project objectives as appropriate; selects and orders equipment and other capital items; tracks and coordinates project costs.
Manages large projects including planning, design, and monitoring work to ensure projects completed within plans, guidelines and objectives.
Participates in field inspections of park projects under construction.
Coordinates large projects involving landscape designs, ecosystem restoration plans, mitigation plans, environmental compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), state and local building and planning codes and other regulatory legislation.
|Strong knowledge of landscape architecture principles, practices, and procedures.
Strong knowledge of federal, state and local building and planning codes and regulations involving park design, park structures, and other related requirements.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local conservation and environmental policies and regulations.
Knowledge of urban park planning and funding solutions.
Strong design skills including AutoCAD and hand drawings; use of rendering software such as Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Ability to lead and manage projects, including overseeing, planning and coordination of project details and cost.
Ability to prepare construction documents, cost estimates, and oversee deliverables.

|Bachelor degree from an accredited college in landscape architecture and five years of related experience in park design and planning including one year experience overseeing complex park projects.
Requires a Florida Landscape Architecture license, reciprocity may be considered until Florida license obtained.
Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
