|ASSET MANAGEMENT CLERK SENIOR|

|Perform specialized administrative, clerical and manual work in the Asset Management Program relating to the identification and accountability of the City's capital assets. Tasks include: electronic computer monitoring of purchase orders, via the JDE/PeopleSoft fixed asset module, to identify qualifying equipment and create master asset records in the system; perform annual site visits to each program to inventory assets; and maintaining all records of transfers and disposals. Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting in coordinating the sales of surplus equipment via sealed bids, live or electronic auctions and the accountability of all funds received from such sales. All work is performed under the general supervision of the Asset Management Supervisor.|
|Reviews received purchase orders to determine if they meet the criteria for a capital asset.
Communicates, when necessary, with Program requisitioners to obtain additional information required to identify and create master records electronically in the fixed asset system.
Schedules on site visits with each of the 200 plus City programs to inventory capital assets with the aid of hand held scan guns and inventory management software to run reports on found and missing items.
Initiates forms for program managers and division managers to explain missing items and to request disposition of surplus or damaged items.
Reviews asset transfer requests for completion and enter transfer information electronically into the fixed asset system.
Assists in the process to dispose of surplus equipment via sales and auctions and complete final end of life documentation.
|Knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures including knowledge of materials, components, and various items of capital equipment used by City agencies.
Knowledge of regulations and procedures of assigned area related to property control.
Knowledge of certain software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and JDE/PeopleSoft fixed asset system to enter accurate data, log information, create spreadsheets, etc
Skilled in the use a personal computer and various office equipment.
Skilled in the operation of an automobile, van or pick-up truck.
Ability to understand and follow complex written and verbal instructions.
Ability to produce statistical reports and make mathematical computations accurately.
Ability to maintain inventory records and prepare moderately complex reports and to collect and organize data from several sources.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees, supervisors and the general public.
Ability to perform work that involves bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and transporting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
|High school graduate with two (2) years experience in inventory control, materials handling, purchasing or related work; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience working with computers. Experience maintaining inventory control records and related software highly desired. Requires a valid Florida Driver's License. SOME POSITIONS
