|VENUES OPERATIONS DIVISION MGR|
|The Venues Operations Division Manager is the Orlando Venues Senior Level Manager responsible for all services, contracts and personnel involved in the maintenance, premises and operations of Amway Center. Responsibilities include providing direction, management and the fiscal oversight of maintenance, changeover, housekeeping and the physical plant for this NBA and concert venue.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Orlando Venues and performance is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted and results obtained.
|Prepares and manages the annual budget for operations of the facility, recommends the annual and capital budget for long-range repairs and improvements to the facility and authorizes the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
Monitors and approves operations expenditures.
Plans, schedules and coordinates activities involving the physical preparation and changeover of the arena for events ranging in diversity from NBA basketball, concerts, ice shows, arena football, indoor lacrosse and soccer, sporting events and exhibitions, and family shows.
This oversight includes the laying of sports floors, assembling and dismantling stages and platforms, laying ice, installing hockey dashers, and protective glass etc. to ensure compliance with promoter specifications, safety procedures, and required time guidelines.
Participates in event related planning meetings with staff and/or promoters.
Develops work schedules, prioritizes and assigns work to ensure all promoter requirements are met in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
Inspects and evaluates the condition of facility to ensure it is maintained at the highest standards, is clean, safe, and equipment is in proper working order for users as well as general public. Initiates all repairs, replacements and upgrades.
Maintains the inventory of equipment, tools, and machinery for the facility. Authorizes the procurement of tools, materials, and supplies as needed.
Formulates service contract requirements and participates in the development and evaluation of bid specifications of contracts.
Ensures compliance of those contracts this position oversees. Those contracts include but are not limited to the contracts for cleaning, elevator and escalator maintenance, fire protection maintenance and relate operational services.
Maintains records including timekeeping, preventative maintenance, equipment usage, and safety management policies; prepares and submits various reports.
Manages subordinate managers and supervisors who oversee employees in various functions, including interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, address complaints and resolve problems. Provide direction and focus for all aspects of the operational side of the facility.
Reviews technical papers, catalogues, and other reference materials to keep abreast of current setup operations in respective area; recommends new methods as necessary to improve operations.
|Have a proven track record of focusing on the Customer experience.
Posses strong organizational and communication skills, be a strategic thinker and planner with a proven track record of success in facility management.
Have experience working with a professional sports team with preference to experience with a NBA or NHL franchise.
Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in operations and maintenance of an entertainment facility. (i.e. sports stadium, auditorium, exhibition center, arena)
Knowledge of stage equipment, including rigging, lighting, sound, and electrical systems.
Considerable knowledge of the making, painting, surfacing, tempering and removal of ice for ice shows and/or hockey games.
Knowledge of sound reinforcement principles and equipment.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to building maintenance work.
Effective interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift heavy objects and operate various tools and equipment used in such a facility including but not limited to a forklift, Zamboni, and Hi Reach.
Ability to review and comprehend complex stage and floor setup plans.
Ability to develop and oversee an inventory control system, preventative maintenance program and safety programs and event checklists.
Ability to plan and schedule work and supervise various activities.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Excellent computer skills.
|Bachelors degree in Business, Sports Management, Engineering or related field and seven (7) years of progressive management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a major public facility. Required to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.|
