|TENNIS CENTRE MANAGER|
|Middle Management/Professional/NM AD|
|Performs administrative work supervising the operational, programming activities, and maintenance of the Tennis Centre. An employee in this classification is responsible for promoting the facility for usage, revenue generation and bookkeeping, supervising the work of facility employees, and facility maintenance and tennis pro instructor contractors. Work is performed under the general direction of the Athletic Area Manager and is reviewed through reports, conferences, and results achieved.|
|Identifies the needs of patrons and develops programs to meet these needs.
Screens and accepts reservations for facility usage; serves as liaison with community groups; consults with prospective facility users regarding fees, insurance and related matters.
Collects receipts and deposits for all center and program fees.
Recruits, interviews, trains, and supervises all employees and volunteers at the facility.
Ensures facility and courts are maintained as follows; conducts inspections of buildings, courts, grounds, and equipment for and safety and cleanliness.
Enforces rules and regulations of the facility with the public; updates policies and procedures.
Orders supplies and equipment.
Assist with budget preparation and monitors expenditures.
Performs related work as required.
|Knowledge of public relations principles and practices
Knowledge of office practices to include bookkeeping, statistical reporting and budgeting.
Knowledge of tennis court maintenance including clay courts.
Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates and volunteers.
Ability to plan and implement programs for all ages.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to operate a personal computer and Office Software.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, community groups, merchants, schools, and patrons of all ages.
Ability to visually inspect facilities for repairs.
Ability to work in extreme weather, walk, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds.
|Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field and two (2) years experience of management in a Tennis facility with some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience. A valid United States Tennis Association Pro certification required.
Valid Florida drivers license required at time of application. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph exmaination.
