|Performs professional and technical work in coordinating and updating content on the City's external web systems. An employee in this position works with departmental coordinators to assists them in creating user-friendly and effective communications on the web. An employee in this position assists in troubleshooting access problems, tracking use statistics, and implementing site-specific coordination. This position coordinates with Technology Management when necessary. Work requires independent judgment and ability to work both alone or as a member of a team. Work is performed under general supervision of the Creative Services Supervisor and performance is reviewed through observation, and client feedback.|
|Manages all aspects of the City's external web systems. Oversees the drafting, editing and uploading of content by web authors from concept to staging to production.
Designs and develops websites for City web systems. Coordinates with City departments on redesign and content creation. Creates advanced artwork and graphics for use on City web systems.
Updates portions of the City's web systems in accordance with email, phone and job requests.
Tracks website usage statistics. Handles live web video streaming. Formats the City News for web and email. Creates RSS feeds for CityofOrlando.net
Performs highly technical changes to content delivery networks.
Researches trends in web communication and information technology. Develops standards in web design, development and content.
Documents departmental technical procedures.
Serves as point of contact with outside contractors on City web issues. Troubleshoots with clients, vendors and contractors on advanced technical issues related to City web systems.
Performs highly technical work in the administration, modification and maintenance of the department Filemaker database.
Trains and assists City web authors.
Coordinates with Technology Management on internet architecture and system changes.
Provides direction to the Spanish web coordinator, including making assignments and monitoring workload for the position.
Responsible for advanced updates to the City of Orlando's Spanish website.
Researches, recommends and facilitates departmental software and hardware purchases for PC and MAC operating systems.
Coordinates OCNR technical project implementations with consultants, clients and Technology Management.
Provides expert technical assistance for web systems to City departments.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
|Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques used in developing websites.
Knowledge in the operation of a computer and the use of computer software programs for creating wedsite pages in a variety of formats.
Knowledge o web servers, file systems maintenance, computer networking, content delivery networks, internet architecture, and content management systems.
Knowledge of computer technology used to support the mission critical system to include both hardware and software.
Knowledge of policies and procedures, and other related information of the City as it relates to mission critical systems.
Knowledge of project management techniques.
Knowledge of editing photos and preparing graphics for the web.
Ability to research and write short articles on City services and events.
Ability to organize and coordinate multiple, time-sensitive assignments, and to maintain work records.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
|Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Journalism or related field with at least two (2) years of web system design and management experience including the creation of HTML and related documents required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of graphic design and graphic design software required.|
