Utility Service Worker I: $10.71 per hour (Grade L02)
Utility Service Worker II: $12.31 per hour (Grade L03)
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs skilled work in the construction, renovation, modification, installation, maintenance/cleaning, and repair of streets. Duties include: laying brick, pouring concrete, asphalt repair, guardrail and fence repair/replacement. Work is performed under the supervision of an employee of a higher classification and is reviewed by direct observation and through discussions while in progress and upon completion. Required to work under adverse environmental conditions.
UTILITY SERVICE WORKER I: High school graduate with six months experience in public works construction and maintenance; preferably in the maintenance and repair of sidewalks, driveways, asphalt or street bricks. Florida driver license required; CDL Class B preferred. Must be able reliably to be contacted in case of an urgent work situation.
UTILITY SERVICE WORKER II: High school graduate with one year experience in street construction and maintenance, preferably including some experience in the maintenance and repair of sidewalks, driveways, asphalt, or street bricks. Florida Commercial Driver License Class B required. Must be able reliably to be contacted in case of an urgent work situation.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. (FOR UTILITY SERVICE WORKER II, VALID CDL CLASS B OR EQUIVALENT.) VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
