Lift Station Operator A/B/C

Minimum Starting Salary:
Lift Station Operator C: $12.31 per hour (Grade L03)
Lift Station Operator B: $13.74 per hour (Grade L04)
Lift Station Operator A: $15.25 per hour (Grade L05)
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs skilled technical and mechanical work in the operation and maintenance of engines, pumps, and electrical equipment at several lift stations throughout the City. Work is performed under supervision of Lift Station Supervisor and is reviewed through direct observation, logs, and operation of system. Routine work is performed independently but complex tasks may be closely supervised.
WORK LOCATION: Lift Stations Section, 5100 L.B. McLeod Road, Orlando
WORK SCHEDULE: Regular hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but employees in this classification are required to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as division needs dictate.
LIFT STATION OPERATOR C: High school diploma and six months experience in lift station operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must obtain and subsequently maintain a security clearance and GOAA ID within ninety days of hire date. Must obtain Limited Certification from State of Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services to allow spraying of chemical weed killer within one year of hire date. Valid Florida Class "C" Wastewater Collection Technician certificate and valid Florida driver license required. Must be able reliably to be contacted by phone in case of an urgent work situation.
LIFT STATION OPERATOR B: Same as above, but requires three years experience in lift station operations and a valid Florida Class "B" Wastewater Collection Technician certificate.
LIFT STATION OPERATOR A: Same as above, but requires four years experience in lift station operations and a valid Florida Class "A" Wastewater Collection Technician certificate.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
DOCUMENTATION OF WASTEWATER COLLECTION TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW.
