Minimum Starting Salary: $9.72 per hour
|NATURE OF WORK:
Performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual work involving maintenance duties at Wadeview Community Center. Cleans sidewalks, awnings, buildings and other recreation facilities using pressure cleaners. Participates in preparation of facility for various events. Sets up and arranges tables, chairs, and equipment as instructed; breaks down, cleans and stores materials. May operate pickup truck and related equipment. Cleans carpeted and vinyl floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing or stripping, waxing, and polishing using floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet cleaners, and related janitorial equipment. Cleans windows, walls, rest rooms and office furniture and equipment by dusting, washing down and polishing surfaces. Keeps rest rooms stocked with soap, towels, and tissue. Empties trash containers and replaces plastic liners. Performs general maintenance tasks such as minor painting, replacement of damaged ceiling tiles and light bulbs, etc. Performs routine grounds maintenance activities such as mowing and edging lawns, planting and trimming hedges in parks and other recreation facilities Services and performs minor maintenance such as greasing, lubricating, and cleaning of tools and equipment. Cleans vehicles, equipment, tools, and facilities by washing down surfaces using pressure cleaners, sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors; replenishes supplies in rest rooms; performs routine maintenance such as replacing light fixtures, minor painting and carpentry, etc. Loads and unloads trucks with tools and materials for transport to and from work sites.
WORK LOCATION/SCHEDULE: 2177 Summerlin Avenue, Orlando. Regular hours are 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. including some weekends. Location and schedule are subject to change based on division events, staffing, etc.
Ability to operate floor scrubbers, buffers, floor strippers, and carpet cleaning equipment. Ability to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructions. Ability to perform manual labor such as pushing, pulling, and lifting. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, often under hot and humid environmental conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb and work from ladders. Florida driver license required.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
