Pool Technician - Certified

Minimum Starting Salary: $15.25 per hour
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs skilled work in the operation and maintenance of City swimming pools; including recirculation/filtration systems, chemical feeding systems, and related computer automation to provide continuous protection of swimming pool water from contamination and protect the health, safety, and welfare of all program participants. Duties also include responsibility for cleanliness of facilities, purchase and maintenance of janitorial/chemical supplies, chemical test kits and other related equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of a program supervisor and is reviewed through direct observation of results achieved, reports, and conferences.
High school diploma or equivalent; three years experience in swimming pool operations, maintenance, and repairs, preferably including one year post-certification experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to swim required. Some supervisory experience desired. National Swimming Pool Foundation "Certified Pool/Spa Operator®" or National Parks and Recreation Association "Aquatic Facility Operator Certification" required. State of Florida Swimming Pool Service License desired.
CURRENT CERTIFICATIONS MAY BE PRESENTED WITH APPLICATION OR AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. NSPF OR NPRA CERTIFICATION IS A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT AND MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.
