Senior Assistance

  • Seniors First, Inc. - Financial counseling, emergency home Energy Assistance Program, meals, medical equipment and other senior services.
     
  • Share the Care - Specializing in adult day care and respite for frail, physically and cognitively impaired adults.
     
  • SeniorLinks - Network of City of Orlando's homeowners, neighborhood, condominium and resident associations that have regular contact with senior citizens living in the neighborhood who may be isolated in their homes due to illness, choice or the lack of a family support system.
     
  • Families, Parks & Recreations Older Adults Programs - Providing quality recreational, educational and social programs to promote wellness and lifelong learning, while keeping older adults active and engaged in their community.
     
  • Heart of Florida United Way’s 2-1-1 - A free, one-stop source for referrals to approximately 800 health and human service agencies and 2,000 programs and services in Central Florida. Answering calls 24 hours per day, bilingual operators connect people in need with affordable housing, food, rent assistance, help with a disabled or elderly family member and much more.
     
  • Lynx Discount Rates - Riders age 65 and older are eligible for AdvantAge fares and passes. Seniors must present proof of age with a valid photo I.D. when purchasing a pass or paying a fare.
     
  • Legal Aid Society - Provides quality legal services for the low-income residents, the working poor, children, and disadvantaged groups with special legal needs. Including Family Law and Guardian ad Litem cases.
     
  • Retired Senior Volunteer Program (Florida Senior Programs, Inc.) - Senior volunteer program that helps older Americans solve community problems by sharing their life experiences through volunteering. Provides volunteers the opportunity to discover new interests, expand social interaction, combat depression and loneliness and enhance self-esteem.

  • Lighthouse Central Florida (Formerly CITE) - Vision rehabilitation services for adults and  families.
     
  • Heart of Florida United Way’s 2-1-1 - Provides a free, one-stop source for referrals to services in Central Florida 24 hours per day. Bilingual operators connect people in need of help with a disabled family member and much more.
     
  • Lynx Discount Rates - Riders with disabilities are eligible for AdvantAge fares and passes. Customers with disabilities must also present a valid LYNX I.D. or Medicare card when purchasing a pass or paying a fare.
     
  • Goodwill of Central Florida - Providing vocational and job placement services to people with disabilities.
