TRANSPORTATION PLANNING DIVISION
The City of Orlando created Transportation Planning in 1988 to manage growth pressures on the transportation system and its funding. Today, the Transportation Planning Divisionís work focuses on four key areas; transportation capital planning and finance, systems and long range planning, transit, bike and pedestrian planning, and development review. Transportation Planning handles these activities and represents the City on transportation policy and direction affecting the City of Orlando.
Our Mission is to promote sustainable growth and the livability of Orlando by developing transportation systems integrated with land use patterns that offer residents and visitors travel choices and convenient access to goods, services, information, jobs, schools, recreation and civic involvement.
Transportation Planning is responsible
for all professional activities necessary for the planning and
coordination of improvements to the Cityís major road network, public
transportation, airports, bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
