The Wastewater Division is now the Water Reclamation Division. Our new name more appropriately describes the mission of the division, which is to provide superior service through the “collection, transportation, and treatment of wastewater to create usable water through an efficient distribution network.” Every team member has an important role in achieving this mission. From eliminating or reducing undesirable elements in the waste stream, to making sure wastewater makes it through hundreds of miles of lines and more than 200 lift stations to one of our three water reclamation facilities (WRFs), our water reclamation staff, all 218, have their work cut out for them. We’re all in this together. I’m proud of the work done by all of the Water Reclamation employees to keep our residents safe from exposure to improperly treated wastewater. I’m thankful for the dedication of our employees who work in dirty and dangerous situations, collect, transport and treat raw domestic and industrial wastewater, and turn this treated wastewater into a usable product.
