Nemours Children’s Hospital at Lake Nona is the 2016 recipient of the distinguished Industrial User of the Year Award presented by the City of Orlando Industrial Waste Pretreatment Program. Since 2002, industries in the City of Orlando which are permitted through the Wastewater Division’s Industrial Waste Pretreatment Program have been recognized for consistent and excelled compliance with the program. In 2006, the Industrial Waste Pretreatment Program began presenting a single industry with the “Industry of the Year” certification in recognition of outstanding achievement, dedication, and contributions in the area of industrial pretreatment. In 2008 we decided that an award was a better tool in the recognition of an industry. Previous winners of the “Industry of the Year” have included Coca-Cola Refreshments USA (2010), Florida Gas Transmission Company (2014), Florida Hospital Orlando (2011), MtronPTI (2006), Nemours Children’s Hospital (2015), Orlando International Airport (2008 & 2013), Peninsula Metal Finishing (2007), Toufayan Bakery of Florida ( 2009) and Universal Orlando (2012).
