Get Involved: Become a Volunteer!

The Orlando Wetlands Park is supported by volunteers called the Friends of the Orlando Wetlands.


  • Provide a meaningful, pleasant and safe park experience for guests.
  • Be an attendant, greeter, ambassador, naturalist and interpreter.
  • Have a special interest and enthusiasm of the park and for promoting the park and its historical, scientific and natural qualities.
  • Enjoy talking to and interpreting all facets of interest for the park visitor.
  • Able to drive, hike or walk, spot interests and interpret the guided experience.
  • As a friend you will be helping to protect one of Florida’s finest constructed wetlands.


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to volunteer

  • Become a Friend of the Orlando Wetlands, help promote and protect our natural resources!
  • Assist the City of Orlando staff with operations, programs and public service.
  • Visitor services: Education Building open, sell items, opportunity for public tram tours, greet and answer questions at entrance.
  • Periodic care of the entrance area, education center and native plant garden.
  • Photograph and document seasonal flora and fauna.
  • Plan, design and develop a specialty display/program/publication for public use.
  • Give special tours and programs for pre-registered groups.

To become a member of the Friends of the Orlando Wetlands, contact the Park and fill out an application.  As a Friend of the Orlando Wetlands you will have access to the Park for behind the scene events, special trips, meetings, and training opportunities.
