2023 Orlando Wetlands Festival

Wetlands Festival, bird banding

The Water Reclamation Division hosted the 2023 Orlando Wetlands Festival and attracted an estimated 4,000 attendees! Held at the Orlando Wetlands, the event hosted a variety of environmental activities, presentations and water reclamation themed exhibits as well as exhibits by Solid Waste, Streets and Stormwater, Public Works, Sustainability and Resilience and many more. District 3 Commissioner Robert F. Stuart and Public Works Director Corey Knight welcomed the crowd with a special message. There were more than 40 exhibitors, live animals, water reclamation trucks, specialty guided hikes for birders, photographers, plant lovers, stage presentations, wagon rides, guided bus tours of the Orlando Wetlands, games, bounce houses, several food vendors and so much more!  A very big thank you goes to the Water Reclamation staff for providing more than 50 staff members to help coordinate and deliver this colossal event! Special thanks also goes to the 40 volunteers from the Friends of the Orlando Wetlands group for helping plan and deliver the event. A shout out for a job well done goes to the City of Orlando's Office of Communications and Neighborhood Relations for creating all things related to graphics and media and for promoting the event across a variety of platforms. Thank you to OFD for providing standby first aid support and thank you to our financial sponsors Wharton-Smith, Inc., Tetra Tech, Ardaman & Associates, CPH, Kiewit, and Orange Audubon Society.

Stay tuned for the 2025 Orlando Wetlands Festival date.
